How my dad used the navigator for the first time

It was about 10–15 years ago. Navigators were just coming into vogue, and not everyone had them. And on my brand new iPhone, it was just installed. Already one where they speak in a voice about turns, kilometers, and so on.

And my dad and I had to go to another city for work, and the opportunity arose to use this navigator. I put an end to it, attached an iPhone, and went. At first, dad rejected this idea, but after already 5 minutes of work with the new aid, he got very involved in the road.

My father, to put it mildly, is not friendly with technology, and the navigator generally saw and heard for the first time. On each "Turn right" and "Straight 30 kilometers I said "Thank you". I chuckled and thought he was joking. But when we entered the city, my dad said to me:

All right, turn it off.

For what? Haven't arrived yet.

Turn it off, I say; the man has been with us for 3 hours; I'm probably tired.

- Dad...

Come on, come on, how much can human kindness be used?

- Yes, that's...

Leaning towards the phone:

Thank you! Thank you very much; we will drive further ourselves; I will ask the locals there; we are in the center, not far from here! Goodbye!

and turns back to me:

Everyone, you see, is silent. Tired! Turn it off.
